Overview
.

The academic program of Horizons School offers the knowledge and skills which will permit students to pursue education in the future.

Horizons recognized the needs of students who have serious commitments to activi such as the performing arts, athletics and courses beyond the scope of the academicprogram.

The Performing Arts

Horizons' commitment to the performing arts and to social justice is will-known around Atlanta. Our student-built and student-managed hall, The Arts Studio at Horizons School, has hosted many local, national, and international performers.

The students of Horizons believe that exposure to different forms of art is vital to social and personal growth.

Short Term

Each year, between Thanksgiving and winter holidays, all Horizons high school students write, produce, and perform, "More than Just a Word," a play based thematically around social justice issues. We call this three week-long project, "Short Term."

Elementary & Middle School Performances

Elementary and middle school students draw crowds to their performances every year. Students learn from locally and nationally-known guest directors like "Doc Hollywood" writer Dr. Neil Shulman.
